Everything You Need to Know About Motez

Now, in order to be a DJ or music producer it is  almost certain that music will be your number one passion. However, do you ever wonder what other passions these DJs and producers could possibly have? For Motez, this includes his love for coffee. Yes, you heard right. Even though he’s not from America, he is a coffee enthusiast. He even has his own coffee blog.

If you feel the same way he does about coffee, which I am sure most of you do then check out his blog. I have to say, it’s a very clever name. Now back to the good stuff. When Motez isn’t producing music in the studio or making people dance in the club, he is hosting a radio show called “Clique” on Soundpond.net with his mate Ryley. You may be wondering who in the world says mate? Well, Motez is from the great country/continent of Australia. Still don’t know how that’s possible but that’s beside the point. There aren’t many Iraqi-born, Australian-based house music makers are there right? In fact, there is only one and his name is Motez.

Throughout his life Motez has adapted and pursued his love for music from his early childhood in Baghdad. This city is obviously not big on electronic music so he made the move to Australia back in 2006. He also grew up in a culture that emphasized academics but he managed to stick with his true passion. Through the years he has changed his style to stay ahead of the times. He started with more of a Trance/Progressive feel and then to a much more dirty/groovy feel. Finally, now people describe his music as garage-infused funky house. Motez is always inspired through his music and feels the need to grow and adapt. He is widely known for his great remixes of R&B and Pop songs like Mark Morrison’s “Return Of The Mack”, Justin Timberlake’s “Like I Love You” and Frank Ocean’s “Thinking About You”
This one will have you feeling some type of way about Frank Ocean. Every song he touches he is able to create a completely new feel. He also has a number of original hits like “Tryna Shake It”. When you hear his original songs, be ready for a lot of bass and a lot of interesting/weird beats. Motez is truly an artist in that he makes the oddest of beats flow together. There is something distinctly unique about his music that no other DJ/Music Producer has.

In the club, Motez is one of the grooviest DJs of them all. In fact he is a keyboard player by trade so don’t be surprised if you see him playing off his keyboard during a live performance. He is always looking for the next “creative challenge.” So expect to hear something new if you’re a true Motez fan. So be ready to dance, boogie down, groove, rock, waltz, bop, or whatever you call it with Motez on June 27th, 2015 at Deeper’s Event at Prime nightclub. You might not be able to see him but he will be dancing the night away with you. Also be sure to check him out on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram, and Soundcloud.
